Exploring Careers at the RSPCA Wildlife Centre
Our recent careers programme trip to the RSPCA Wildlife Centre was an incredible experience! We learned all about the different jobs within the RSPCA and the vital work they do to protect and care for animals in need. From animal care assistants to veterinary staff and wildlife specialists, the team plays a huge role in rescuing and rehabilitating animals.
During the visit, we discovered the wide range of animals the RSPCA helps, including cats, dogs, birds, and even seals. We got hands-on by making treat crackers for cats and dogs and creating pom-pom sticks for cats—a fun way to support animal enrichment.
One of the highlights of the day was getting a sneak peek at the baby seals currently being cared for. We were amazed to learn that the centre is looking after over 36 seals at the moment! Seeing the dedication of the staff and the impact of their work was truly inspiring.
This trip gave us a real insight into careers in animal welfare and showed us how rewarding and important these roles are.
