Song Story and Singing Success!
Song Story Project & Oakhill Choir
Over the Summer term, learners from Oakhill and Hazelbrook took part in an exciting Song Story project led by Jackdaws Music Education Trust. They explored and celebrated the music of the influential composer Giuseppe Verdi—adding, of course, a unique Selworthy twist!
The Oakhill assembly choir also created a heartfelt cover of the classic What a Wonderful World, incorporating technology, signing and plenty of enthusiastic singing.
We were so proud of everyone’s hard work and creativity that we entered the Somerset & Dorset Schools Choir Competition 2025. As you can see from our certificate, we were highly commended! The judges shared some fantastic feedback, praising Song Story: What’s for Lunch for its great singing, amazing solos, strong engagement, and brilliant timing. Our performance of Wonderful World was described as featuring lovely actions, impressive ensemble work in the hall, and excellent use of technology.
Well done to all involved!
